DANCE ACADEMY: THE MOVIE
The popular dance television series Dance Academy has returned, only this time it is movie format and it features Keto Dancewear!
The original series follows Tara Webster (Xenia Goodwin), a student at the National Academy of Dance in Sydney where she and her fellow students train for careers as professional dancers with a strong focus on ballet. The new film picks up a few years on from the series, the students have matured, most finding jobs as professional dancers. Tara however, having broken her back, now has to grapple with the idea that she may never dance again, possibly pursuing a career as a writer. She makes a trip to America to help finalize her decision. The original friends all make appearances including Abigail Armstrong (Dena Kaplan) who is confident and sassy, Kat (Alicia Banit), Ollie Lloyd (Keiynan Lonsdale), Sammy Leiberman (Tom Green) and Christian Reed (Jordan Rodrigues).
This Australian made movie (directed by Jeffrey Walker) has been filmed in Sydney and New York, giving an insight into the struggles and joys of life as a professional ballerina. We think it is only fitting that the main characters including Tara, Abigail and Ben wear garments by Keto!
This is a film that all lovers of ballet will enjoy, even if you haven’t seen the original series. We are proud to support this Australian film and feel honored to have our garments featured!
