SWAN LAKE, Finnish National Ballet
Share
Winter-themed and inspired by Nordic landscapes, Finnish National Ballet’s Swan Lake premiered in 2022 as part of the company’s centennial celebrations.
This iconic ballet had not been performed by the company since its first production 100 years ago. The latest iteration blends Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score with a breathtaking visual world, featuring set and costume designs by Gabriela Týlešová. We collaborated with Gabriela to create unique textile prints used throughout the production’s costumes.
Once again, we worked closely with Gabriela to translate her stunning sketches into fabric. This involved developing yardage print repeats and engineering specific placement prints, which appeared across a range of characters, enhancing the production’s rich visual storytelling.
